Morris Shaffer Engineering provided the structural engineering services for the all-new covered entry structure and the seismic retrofit of the existing auditorium & meeting hall. This included unique detailing of the wood entry structure, including supporting a custom steel plate girder staircase, and its connection the concrete shear walls that act as the seismic force resisting system. The seismic retrofit of the auditorium and meeting hall included development of lateral support for the existing concrete walls and their connection to the roof diaphragm and shear walls.
